Scratch Game Design

User experience influenced my games because I had no idea what was going on. Every time I had a question I really was like let me google this or let me find a game or even let me find a tutorial. One time I even learned how to make a very simple plat former game from a 8 or 9 year old girl and her father. My chase game was actually pretty easy to make because it was pretty strict and you knew exactly what to do and how to do it. I had no idea what was going on because it is very knew to me and I am not smart like all these new six graders like Meah, Tyler, and Alexis who actually made wonderful games.

Each of my games were pretty complex with all the coding. If I had to pick any of the games I made and games I'm gonna make it would probably have to be operation freedom. In both of my games they use very simple codes because I didn't want to push myself hard enough, I think that if I push myself really hard I could make a  game like Kyhler. In operation freedom some goals are that they need to be of your highest standards and really challenging, complex, and high-level directions and requirements. Both my games are very different one of them is very well thought and another has like 10 bugs in there that I am trying to figure out.

Chase game code
My best code was probably the code that was in my chase game. In the screen shot on the left it show my chase game code and I think that this was my best code because it had the best turn out then all my other ones. These codes turned out the best because they were fairly simple and I could do it without any bugs. My biggest bug was the bug that was stuck in my plat former. My plat former was bugged up because in the process of trying to make the backgrounds change so that there would be two levels were hard and the fact that when it started the words were not starting when the game started.

Invention Commercial

Hey everyone my teams goal for this assignment was to get the project done within the standards. I liked having the requirement of ENTERTAINMENT because we could have a little fun and we could get really creative. Another goal that my team had was getting it in on time. This was a major goal for us because we were kinda getting into it with each other. We were fighting with each other because we all wanted something but didn't want the same thing as each other. I was really scared when doing this project because I didn't think my idea would be good enough and thought that they wouldn't like it.

When we almost broke the car was would probably be team moment. We almost broke the car because we had the blow torch and we put it right by the car. When we were filming at a building we kept driving it off a ledge. By the end of filming we had to zip tie the middle of the car. It was really fun especially when we got together as a team and worked and made some treats for a fundraiser the next day.

While editing Ala and I shared most of he editing. Ala had most of everything because he's awesome at it. If you hatched the video he did an amazing job at talking and editing. Makaio was an awesome photographer and had a lot awesome shots. I have to admit that I can't do anything as good as them. When trying to film our last project I couldn't even talk into the camera because I stutter. When filming I have to give credit to them because they may not seem like they don't do anything in class but when we go out of school to film they are focused the whole time until we are done.

Composition Scavenger Hunt

Hey everyone Mr. Sanderl gave us a little test on composition technique and I got all of them right except for leading lines. I thought leading lines was the most important because half the class got it wrong. I was one of those people because I didn't really get it but if Mr. Sanderl gave us another test I would ACE it. If I asked you right now would you say yes or no. If your answer yes your wrong even though the kite looks like it's leading to the person. Well now look at the next picture of the tire tracks on the beach. Would you guess that this is leading lines? Well this is leading lines because it is pointing to the trees in the background.Well now you  know a little bit about leading lines just like me.

The most difficult for me was color in contrast. Color in contrast was hard for me because I don't use it as often and don't know how to use it.I can use color in contrast for when I need thing to  pop out and stand out. Some things I could make pop using color in contrast is people, flowers, plants and even words on text. If you put people in whtie and put them by trees it is color in contrast because it's white with green. When I took my picture of color in contrast I didn't make it work because there were dead     flowers in it and they were both nature.

With my team of three there was Alakai Gonsalves, Makaio Gonsalves, and me. If you didn't know this already I don't want anybody thinking that Alakai and Makaio are brothers cause they are Cousins. Ala likes to Play basketball and he likes to build things. Makaio likes to play soccer and lives in Anahola. Makaio, Ala and I are really close so this project seemed easy but we didn't want to say anything that hurt anybody. I like to  do archery and hunt. In this project Makaio was like the model because all of us didn't want to really be in the picture. I was like the camera man because I was good at filming. Ala was the main editing man because he knew where everything is and how good it would be.

Cracking the Code

Did you know that famous basketball player Chris Bosh is learning to code.Yellow everyone, This project that we're working on is a coding project. Some of the sixth graders are saying we should learn how to do it. So I think everyone should learn how to code because it is very key in how to get a job. A lot of high paying jobs will except you if you know how to code because there isn't very much coders in the world. Even Famous people like Will.i.am even learned to code, You don't have to be famous to code but it may make you famous.

Have you ever coded before? Well the very first time i've coded was just a few weeks ago and it was pretty fun. I went onto code.org with Mr. Sanderl my teacher and did the very first lesson at first it didn't make any sense. I thought that the funnest one was the flappy bird lesson because it felt like you were making your own app with easy codes. It was really easy until level ten when you had to use the repeat button. Overall I think it was a very good experience because now I pretty much know how to code and can make my own app if I wanted to even.

If I could design an app that you can download onto any Device and it can give you ideas of things to do and if you need to buy anything it will tell u the exact place. I would create an app like this because sometimes I get bored and I want to go on Pinterest but it doesn't tell me where to buy the thing so with this app I would be able to do projects. I think that people would want this app on their phone because they want to bake stuff and make projects but they can't find where it's located. I would create this app using all the things that Mr. Sanderl taught me because I'm still not used to this. I would even use this app when I'm at home and is nothing to do and I can't watch a video because whatever reason and I'm just sitting there doing nothing.

My Humorous Monologue

What's up everyone!! The most important thing I've learned from this project was probably to copy your work before you edit it your HTML because on Thursday I had to make it all over because I deleted it all. I felt very stupid but then I looked at everything else I learned. Like how I learned that when you work with yourself it can be harder since you have no one to lean on except yourself. Especially since you have to work on a lot of sin a very short time and you always leave it for the week before the project is due. Another thing I learned is Patience because when working with yourself you always feel like it isn't gonna be the best and lower your self confidence. In all I learned that when working by yourself you can have a very very very hard time.

Pad is when you add extra rolling time to your film. You should add pad to your film because when you don't your voice or monologue gets cut off. I added pad to my film hopefully because I knew that it was crucial. I also did to my partners Ashley Alfiler and not sure if she did the same for me. If you haven't already you should go and check my work and see if I did. When you are finished watching you should go and comment and tell me if you did. When I think padding your clips I think of adding extra protection to my film.

Okay guys I don't want to admit this but my biggest weakness was the lighting. Lighting was my biggest challenge because I was filming on the inside of my house and the lighting wasn't very good. My biggest strength was probably getting my 5 year old brother (at the time 4) to help me with this project. I practically bribed him into doing this by telling him I would make him caramel popcorn, ice cream, and giving him money. One way I could improve is by leaving more pad not in film but in time. I should have left pad in time so I wasn't rushing and I could have added music, more transitions, and maybe even effects.

Comedy Writing

Hey this year I decided to introduce the project in each post. So in this blog post you are making a 30- 60 second joke video. Humor is an important character trait because most of the time it reveals who you are and how you act. Humor isn't just going on a stage and making people laugh because anyone can do that. Humor is about having empathy towards your audience and actually think about your audience. For example say your at a party with a bunch of Portuguese, you wouldn't be going around saying Portuguese jokes like " What did the Portuguese do at the stop sign? I don't know he's still there" kind of jokes. You would want to say something appropriate.

Okay so I will be giving you 5 tips on how to right a HUMOROUS narrative . One tip I would say would be to just use things in your everyday life that is boring and make them seem really funny. Somethings you could use can be dishes, laundry, siblings, school, and many more things. My second tip would be use sarcasm to make the most boring thing sound hilarious. When writing a story you probably want to make sure that they are appropriate to the audience. SO when going to a party and telling jokes make sure they are appropriate to that age group or ethnic group you will be sharing this joke with. If you are going to be publishing your joke you should try to stay away from ethnic joke so you don't offend anyone. One more tip I had in mind was to just be yourself in writing to speaking. When I say be yourself I mean use the same hand gestures you would when talking to friends or family. My last tip I would give you would be to be original and try not to copy a joke that is already made.

My comedic monologue was on my siblings and how they use to be super mean to me. I used sarcasm to make it sound funny. I basically did everything siblings do to irritate each other. I think it is funny because everyone knows that getting your toys and things your playing with taken away isn't fun but when I said it it sounded super fun. Another reason why I think my monologue is funny is because I used my everyday life to make it funny. I used things that made me annoyed and it turned out funny. When I had to come up with the idea I ton of ideas pop into mind and the very best one being my siblings. The way my siblings treat me because im older isn't always the very nicest like when they demand me to tie their shoe or make them dinner.

Motivational Poster

Some of the requirements are that we need 2 text layers one will have our Manifesto and the other will have our Personal quotes. 4 pictures are needed to make this complete, three picture were my symbolic pictures and the last picture was a portrait of my face. If I have all of these pictures and requirements then I will get a 4/4 or in other words an A. This Motivational project was due Friday August 28, 2015. Some of the design requirements were that all text layers should have been kerned so that there was no white spaces. I had a triadic color scheme which consisted of a light purple as the dominant color, a neon green as one of the harmonious colors and the last color was a bright orange. Blending options was not exactly an option, I added a bevel and emboss, a stroke, and an outer glow. Although you can't see my outer glow there is one. Color balance, levels, and exposure was somethings I used on my project, Curves was another thing you could have used but I don't always like using curves. TO distribute equal distribution I made it so that all the lines were kind of on the other picture. Since I did all these requirements I got a 4/4 on my design requirements.

Starting from the beginning I went to Photoshop and pressed command and N at the same time to make a project. Once I had my project I put my personal quotes into layer 1 and started Kerning the personal quotes into a box in the right had corner. Then I added a new layer and named it manifesto, I then copied and pasted my manifesto from my last blog post and Kerned that until I had it like I wanted it. I then had my pictures of me, clouds, my bow, and my friend basil the pig put into my document. I then made visual balance between my pictures and added my manifesto and personal quotes. I then added blending options in the colors neon, orange, and purple.

My biggest challenge was probably kerning. Kerning was the biggest challenge because it took the longest. I found out that having to kern is way harder then adding options on your layers or adding your options onto your pictures. I overcame this challenge by having patience with myself and my project. I also over came this challenge with the help of peer editing like having my friends say if it should stay like this or change it. I asked Julie, Ala, and Makaio if it looked good or not and they told me it was god but I wasn't sure. If I needed help with Kerning it right I asked them too, Even when I needed some of the letters to move more up to fix it I asked my 6th grade partner Tyler Tanaka.
